We’re pleased to announce that Spa Communications has earned the ‘Great Place to Work’ certification, highlighting our continuous commitment to creating a positive and empowering workplace where the team can thrive, both professionally and personally.
So, what does this certification mean, and why is it such a significant achievement?
What is a ‘Great Place to Work’?
The Great Place to Work certification is a globally recognised merit for workplace values. It’s given out according to data and insights gathered from millions of employees working around 10,000 worldwide organisations surveyed on key areas like trust, respect, and fairness.
It’s all about fostering a culture where every individual feels valued and empowered, to benchmark individual performance.
What makes Spa stand out?
We’re dedicated to going above and beyond the industry standard for the team’s wellbeing and development.
Here’s how we’ve developed a culture that sets us apart:
At Spa Communications, collaboration is the foundation of everything we do. To encourage an innovative and creative working environment, we’ve built a culture where ideas are freely shared, and everyone’s contributions are valued and listened to. Every member of the team plays an important role in shaping the future of the company.
We recognise that both personal and professional growth go hand in hand. That’s why we’re dedicated to providing our team with opportunities for professional development as well as the space to work on their own personal goals. Through regular conversations for improvement and access to industry events, we ensure everyone stays at the forefront of PR, podcasting, social media and communications.
“At Spa, we’ve long championed the health and well-being of our friends and colleagues, and recognise that we must create a supportive working environment to help relieve some of the pressures placed on PR and communications teams,” says Charlotte Wood, Account Director, Spa Communications. “As a family-run business, we believe in creating a culture of care, where everyone looks after one another.
We pride ourselves in creating an inclusive atmosphere that celebrates diversity. We know that our diverse team brings fresh perspectives and innovative ideas, which is key to delivering our clients the best possible results.
Prioritising Mental Health
We’ve long championed the health and wellbeing of our people, taking steps to foster an open and supportive working environment that has a culture of care, and where everyone looks after one another. As such, we’ve proudly created corporate partnership with West Kent Mind, a prominent mental health charity in the Sevenoaks, Tonbridge & Malling, and Tunbridge Wells – becoming its first ever Change Maker for the county.
As part of our collaboration, we’re initiating a comprehensive approach to mental health advocacy within the agency to support the wellbeing of our people, providing mental health training, and dedicated Mental Health First Aiders, alongside initiatives which aim to foster open and honest conversations surrounding health and mental wellbeing.
What does this certification mean for us?
Being named as a ‘Great Place to Work’ is a testament to our company’s values and ideals. It showcases the trust, camaraderie, and positive workspace we have built.
The certification allows us to draw in new talent, and future employees will now know that Spa Communications is a place where they can grow and have a positive impact on both our clients and the team.
We are committed to constantly evolving and improving our workplace by listening to feedback from our team and provide long-term success for both them and our clients because of this.
Becoming certified is a fantastic achievement, and it’s only just the beginning. It highlights our dedication to creating a culture where individuals feel appreciated and are encouraged to grow, collaborate and succeed, and we’re excited to keep building on this success together.
We see the need to spread mental health awareness across the workplace, and with World Mental Health Day on 10th October, we want to make a difference in the community.
Our team is taking part in the ‘Step with Spa’ Challenge to walk 600,000 steps to raise £1,500 for the charity West Kent Mind.
